Berlin Aquarium, yes more holiday snaps.

Berlin Aquarium is conveniently located at Berlin zoo and like everything in Berlin you really need a day to fully appreciate it. It is not just an aquarium your ticket covers you for the terrarium with all the reptiles. There is also an Entomology section on the top floor which houses all the Insects. Unfortunately I ran out of time to look at it properly but what I did see was an ant colony in the centre of the exhibition. There was perspex pipes funnelling the ants all over the room to a glass box with food in it. This was to show the organisation and scale of how ants interact.

The aquarium was very impressive the amount of detail in the enclosures is amazing. The rain forest exhibition pictured above has all different conditions recreated from different forests from around the world. The sea fish have a huge section and they even have jelly fish which were raised in captivity which I read is incredibly difficult to do.
